Distortion was created by a team of award winning innovators in live and film production. Distortion are rebellious, creative and consciously commercial. We focus on new writing that blurs the boundaries of everyday experiences with stories that transport viewers to new and extraordinary times and places

Who are we?

The team behind Distortion have been drawn from TV, Film, Theatre, and live events. They have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world writing, directing, and producing award winning content for over 30 years.

Steve Garratt

Director of Development

Steve Garratt is an award-winning Writer and Director. He is a creative polymath, having worked in theatre, live events, Television and animation around the world. Before heading up the creative team at Distortion he was the Creative Director for Studio Giggle for 15 years. Steve has a talent for storytelling, narrative design and the creation of imaginative and rebellious worlds. He is represented as a writer by SWA Agency London and has an MA in Scriptwriting.

Jonathan Brigden

Managing Director

Jonathan Brigden has been working in the creative industries for more than 20 years spanning the music, theatre and film industries. In more recent years, Jonathan has been working at Studio Giggle as Managing Director, he creatively directed a number of Giggle’s big multi-discipline live productions from major product launches to entertainment world premieres. He will be applying these skills develop Distortion’s productions.

Distortion uniquely focuses on developing and producing projects created from ground up for Virtual production. Building worlds that have never existed and taking our viewers on extraordinary journeys. Distortion sees the advancement of new technology as an opportunity to tell stories that could not be told in any other way. Distortion’s productions span across a wide range of genres and are aimed at numerous different demographics
